Inkwali outreach workshop to help foster careers without matric

The workshop will be a sit-down engagement between the mentors we have invited and the youth.

The Nguwe Wedwa Youth Development Organisation holds a career guidance, entertainment and entrepreneurial workshop at Inkwali Community Hall on Saturday, 8 December from 9am.

The organisation was formed when inspirational speaker and musician, Mbongeleni Mzimela joined hands with five other community members to provide mentorship, support and development to local youth.

“Nguwe Wedwa formulated programmes to help the youth discover and develop their own talents, identify the careers they wish to pursue, learn entrepreneurial skills, develop and nurture a positive mindset,” said Mbongeleni.

Nguwe Wedwa’s main focus is youth, especially those in secondary school, and creating an entrepreneurial space for unemployed youth, the undereducated such as high school drop-outs, young girls who fell pregnant as teenagers, and youngsters suffering from alcohol and drugs abuse.

“The workshop will be a sit-down engagement between the mentors we have invited and the youth. It is not an event where one stands up and speaks but it is a unique programme where the youth and their advisers sit together and engage in serious, yet entertaining talk. Tizozo and Da Game of Vuma FM will join hands with us during the programme,” said Mbongeleni.

Topics will include:

* What fields of study can one pursue without matric?

* How to start a business

* What businesses can one start without capital?

* Entertainment and media opportunities

* Developing a positive mindset
