Family’s desperate search for missing Toti man continues

Cobus Smith was last at Toti Main Beach on Friday afternoon.

FAMILY and friends of Cobus Smith (33) urge the community to keep an eye out for the missing man who was last seen on Friday afternoon, 26 October at the Amanzimtoti Beach area.

After suffering an accident, Cobus’ mental functions are slower than the average adult.

Cobus has only stayed in Amanzimtoti for about three months and over this time has become involved in the sea and aspires to become a lifeguard.

He was last at Toti Main Beach on Friday afternoon. He went for a swim and collected his bags from the lifeguards around 3pm, yet didn’t return to his home in Bengu Road where he was expected back at noon.

Cobus is tall, average in weight with dark, curly short hair and light eyes. Cobus’ family have reported him missing and opened a case at the Amanzimtoti SAPS. Family described him as friendly, shy and soft-spoken.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Cobus, can contact Linda on 065-838-2939, Leon 065-822-2017, Corne on 079-657-2544 or the Amanzimtoti SAPS.
