Pupil robbed, stabbed by armed suspects

Two pupils were robbed of cash and a cellphone by two suspects.

Members of the public and pupils are urged not to loiter on roads and street corners or display cellphones when walking in and around Isipingo.

This warning was issued by Alpha Alarms after an incident on Friday, 12 October where two pupils – a boy and a girl – were robbed of cash and a cellphone by two suspects, and the girl was stabbed in the back at Plumeria Place in Lotus Park.

“When our member responded to the scene, Lotus CPF members were already on site, together with community members,” said Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo. “Local residents called for the police and the boy was escorted to the police station to open a case.”

Residents are also urged not to carry large amounts of cash while on foot or wear valuable jewellery. These are eye-catching objects for marauding thieves who are ruthless in their pursuit of stolen goods.
