Help Amanzimtoti dog owner find stolen pets

Maweza Msani returned home from work on Thursday to find the padlock on his gate was cut open and his two Bull Mastiff dogs were missing.

A SHERWOOD Crescent, Amanzimtoti dog owner is in dire desperation after his two Bull Mastiff-cross dogs were stolen from his property last week Thursday, 13 September.

The pair had been stolen a week prior and were fortunately found in Chatsworth.

Maweza Msani returned home from work on Thursday to find his gate’s padlock cut open and his dogs gone. The male is bigger and brown with a black back and a white chest. He is three-years-old. The female is smaller in build and a light sandy colour, only a-year-and-a-half-old. Neither of the dogs are sterilised.

The Amanzimtoti resident is desperately seeking the whereabouts of his animals. Anyone with information can contact Maweza on 083-503-6895.

“Dog theft is a huge problem. There are GPS tracking collars available from Ernest Weldon (contact 079-840-9896) which I think is the way to go going forward,” explained Tracey Girling of Amanzimtoti SPCA.

“Inspector Dawn du Plooy has caught children counting dogs in someone’s yard, as well as indicating how many small and large dogs there are. These children are most probably paid to steal dogs. We must all be aware and keep our pets safe.”
