21 children injured in Isipingo taxi crash

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that 21 children, believed to be between nine and 12 years of age, sustained minor to moderate injuries.

Twenty one children were injured this morning (Tuesday, 11 September) when a taxi crashed into a tree on Ramadas Road in Isipingo.

ER24 spokesman, Russel Meiring said paramedics found a taxi on the side of the road against a tree at about 7.05am. Several children were found seated on the side of the road and in other vehicles.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that 21 children, believed to be between nine and 12 years of age, sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found on the scene.

The children were treated for their injuries and transported to nearby hospitals. The driver of the taxi did not sustain any injuries.

The details surrounding this incident are not known, but authorities were on scene for further investigations.
