FOLLOWING last week’s article about the sewage which flooded Parker Garden flats in Merritt Avenue, Warner Beach, the residents of the block wish to pay thanks to the deserving parties.
The cleaning team arrived with multiple tankers, vehicles and helping hands to restored hygiene and cleanliness to the previously flooded lot and garages.

“Following the sewage floods at Parker Gardens on Tuesday, 21 August, I thank all the people who were involved in assisting (to resolve) the situation, especially Aleta Evert and Black Duke, who made the necessary phone calls to arrange for the clean-up,” said Parker Gardens chairman, Justin Imeson.
“I would also like to thank Jonathan Seetsa and Nathan from Ethekwini Waste Water, Carol Mhlanga from DSW, Mthoko Ncwane, the civil engineer who assisted with providing the necessary assistance and Eitienne Gerber from Ethekwini Water for their speedy service and efforts in this matter.”
These roleplayers played a critical role in rectifying the extremely unpleasant crisis.
The photo which appeared along with last week’s article was erroneously captioned and the Sun apologises for the error. The woman in the photograph was not Alzette van Eerden as indicated, but rather former Doonheights Primary School headmistress, Aleta Evert.
