Huge cloud plume over Amanzimtoti signals fire in South Durban

This story will be updated as more information comes to light.

A huge cloud plume is trailing over Amanzimtoti and out to sea this morning (Wednesday, 29 August), the source of which is believed to be a textile company fire in Jacobs.

…as seen in Illovo Beach

While the Sun has learnt that the smoke plume emanates from a Jacob’s textile company, it has been unable to confirm this as yet.
The huge trail of smoke across the sky has not been accompanied by the telltale smell of fire, leaving residents confused in the early morning.

Send us your morning commute photos of the smoke trail as you head into Durban this morning.
