NPO’s women’s pamper day hails mothers

NON-profit organisation, The Loving and Caring Centre reflected on its Women’s Day ‘pamper day’ as a great success.

The event which took place on Thursday, 9 August gave back to the mamas who assist the organisation in working its miracles.

The NPO deals with and assists teenagers who are on ARV treatment, youth who are defaulting in their treatment and those who are on drugs and are HIV-positive.

“The reason we hosted the event is to thank our mothers and grandmothers for the love and support they give us,” said founder, Lindelwa Makhaye. “Protea Hotel Karridene donated a venue, decor and a chef. General manager, Miss Moloto is thanked for her generosity.”

Lindelwa explained that a young girl named Mandisa from Amahlongwa delivered a lovely speech about women abuse. Mr Jabulani from Umgababa spoke about Winnie Madikizela-Mandela as a powerful woman.

“We need to appreciate our mothers and give them the love and respect they deserve,” said the founder. “For many of the women present, it was their first time in a hotel. I hope to take them to Cape Town or the Kruger Park for events in time to come.”

Lindelwa thanked everyone who contributed to the event. If wishing to donate or become involved in the organisation, call 063-150-8969.
