A housebreaker’s luck run out on Friday, 3 August when he was cornered in a combined effort by the Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO), Blue Security and ET Rapid Response.
Last week he was fortunate to escape the CCPO’s clutches after he and his accomplices broke into premises in Hillside and Middleton Road.

“I was in the area on Friday when I heard my neighbour’s dogs going crazy, so decided to have a quick look,” said CCPO committee member, George Snodey. “As I got there this guy was walking off with a welding machine that he had just stolen out of their garage.”
He ran down towards the N2 but Snodey called for assistance on the CCPO radio. In 30 seconds ET Rapid Response South Coast managing member Tony Lokker had joined in the chase with the assistance of Blue Security officers.
The suspect went onto the N2 but was chased by a guy who had broken down on the side of the road, forcing him to go back down onto Seadoone Road. He ran into the bush next to the highway but was eventually cornered, apprehended and handed over to Toti SAPS.
