Driver killed in M35 collision

One driver was found severely entrapped in the wreckage and he was declared dead.

One person was killed when three vehicles collided on the M35 near the Folweni area at about 7.30am today (Monday, 6 August).

“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find three vehicles were involved with two colliding head-on,” said Rescue Care operations director, Garrith Jamieson. “One driver was found severely entrapped in the wreckage and he was declared dead.

The driver of this taxi sustained moderate injuries and was stabilised on the scene.

The reason for the crash is unknown, however SAPS were on scene and will investigate further.
