Teen spreads the word to Bobbi Bear’s charges

SHANIA-Lee Mayoss (13) is spreading the word of God to children in Amanzimtoti by donating children's Bibles she has collected.

SHANIA-Lee Mayoss (13) is spreading the word of God to children in Amanzimtoti by donating children’s Bibles she has collected.

Her first donation was made to Operation Bobbi Bear on Friday, 20 July, where the books will reach those who need light shed in their lives.

“Like many other towns in South Africa, we have many children in Amanzimtoti who haven’t read or even seen a children’s Bible,” she said. Shania-Lee explained that she is privileged enough to have always had a Bible and enjoys reading through it with her dad. She hopes to follow in her grandmother and mother’s footsteps and help children in need.

She donated the bibles to Bobbi Bear, explaining that she wants the children who pass through the organisation’s doors to build a relationship with God through understanding the pictures and stories in the book.

“My dream is to ensure every child that passes through Bobbi Bear has their own Bible and hope for the future,” she said.

Shania-Lee urges the Amanzimtoti community to support her and her mission. Those able to donate children’s Bibles can contact her mother on 079-699-1500.
