Lions Club showers elderly with love and delicious meals

Twenty residents of Poinsettia Park also received a cooked meal, pudding and a cool drink.

Members of the Lions Club of Amanzimtoti committed themselves to feed 100 elders in recognition of Mandela’s 100th birthday.

On Sunday, 29 July a cooked meal with a slice of birthday cake and a cool drink was serve to 80 residents and their caregivers at the homes of the Voice of the Elders. Twenty residents of Poinsettia Park also received a cooked meal, pudding and a cool drink.

“It is so heart-warming to receive a smile, hug and thank you at every house we delivered to,” said Amanzimtoti Lion project chairman, Margaret Haus. “I also received numerous phone calls from the elders to thank Amanzimtoti Lions for the lovely meal. As the Lions’ motto is ‘We serve’, it was such a privilege to serve our elders of Amanzimtoti.”
