Be pro-active in the fight against crime

Isipingo residents are urged to be on high alert as criminals prowl during the cold season and winter crimes are in full swing.

Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo said they have been inundated with callouts for both clients and non-clients who have spotted suspicious activities and people and have noticed unfamiliar vehicles in various areas.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, 5 July, a gang of four men on foot attempted to break into a vehicle in Tangerine Grove in Orient Park. “Orient CPF members, together with our response unit responded to the scene and attempted to pursue the suspects, who ran towards Lotus Park and disappeared,” said Naidoo.

Residents are urged to be vigilant and keep eyes and ears opened to strange, unfamiliar sights and sounds which must be reported to the police, local CPF or your security service provider. Do not attempt to investigate on your own, as suspects can be armed or in groups. Always call and report, and wait for the relevant personnel to respond.

Secure gates, doors and windows, activate your alarm system. Ensure vehicles are locked and security devices are activated. Listen when your dogs bark incessantly and discreetly check. Become pro-active in the fight against crime and join your local CPF.
