Knife-wielding robbers attack Amanzimtoti residents

In the first incident, two suspects entered a Berrio Avenue house and threatened the 61-year-old homeowner with a knife.

Two Amanzimtoti residents were injured in separate attacks at their homes on Friday, 6 July by knife-wielding robbers.

Lt Colonel Thulani Zwane of the SAPS KZN media centre said in the one attack two suspects entered a Berrio Avenue house in Illovo Glen at about 6.15pm and threatened the 61-year-old homeowner with a knife. “He got cuts on his hands during the robbery. The suspects took a TV set before they fled the scene. No arrest have been made and a case of armed robbery was opened at Amanzimtoti police station.”

In the second incident, the victim and his wife were approached by two men who stabbed him several times at about 6.30pm in their Adrienne Road premises in St Winifreds.

“The suspects took a laptop and wallet before they fled the scene. No arrests have been made and a case of armed robbery was opened at Amanzimtoti police station,” he said. It is not known if the incidents are linked.
