Repeat offender nabbed for housebreaking

This suspect is the same man who was apprehended by the CCPO two weeks ago after he broke into a caravan in Dan Pienaar Drive.

Another housebreaker found himself behind bars last week, thanks to alert Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) officers. He was apprehended by CCPO supervisor, Logan Naidoo and crewman Hendrik Nxumalo after they spotted him walking with a brush cutter and an extension cord near Storage City on Thursday, 14 June.

“He first denied stealing it but when he realised the CCPO was not going to believe that he found it in the bush, he eventually took the officers to a house in Mc Menamin Place in Toti, where he had climbed over a high wall with spikes on top and stole the items out of the garage,” said CCPO committee member, George Snodey.

“This suspect is the same one who was apprehended by the CCPO two weeks ago after he broke into a caravan in Dan Pienaar Drive. His case has been postponed for that incident but hopefully this time he will be held in custody until his case is finalised. Prisons are so overcrowded at the moment that the courts have no option sometimes but to release the suspects.”
