BREAKING NEWS: Amanzimtoti motorist suffers facial injuries in attempted hijacking

Emergency services were alerted to the attempted hijacking by WhatsApp group Emergency Assist (South)

A DRIVER escaped with facial injuries after a hijacker assaulted him during an attempted hijacking this morning (Friday, 15 June) at a stop street on Isundu Road, Amanzimtoti.

Jannes Prinsloo from ER24 attended the scene and found the driver by his car and transported him to the nearest hospital. “The patient was assaulted in the face by one hijacker while he was physically holding onto his car. The hijacker eventually gave up and absconded from the scene,” he said.
Emergency services were alerted to the attempted hijacking by WhatsApp group Emergency Assist (South), which put out the initial call for assistance.
