Council’s coastal stormwater department has contracted the BMK group to survey and flush out the stormwater system in Amanzimtoti.
Ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge said two trucks – a Hino with a jetting machine and a Mercedes with surveying equipment – will be in the area for about three months.
“The Hino truck will draw water from fire hydrants, which it will use to flush out any obstructions,” he said. “If you see it, there is nothing sinister going on, it is a planned operation to test the stormwater system so that the department can plan any maintenance or upgrade to the system.”
The two trucks travel together and motorists are urged to use caution when encountering them.
