Kingsburgh Lions make roaring donation to child welfare

Support this initiative by visiting Checkers in the Seadoone Mall on the last Thursday of the month or Pick n Pay in Winklespruit on the first Thursday of the month.

Kingsburgh Lions donated much-needed food to Kingsburgh Child Welfare on Friday, 1 June. The donation was part of the Lions’ ongoing food security project. “We collect donations of groceries from members of the public twice a month,” said Kingsburgh Lions president, Moira Rigby.

“We are at Checkers in the Seadoone Mall on the last Thursday of the month and at Pick n Pay in Winklespruit on the first Thursday of the month.” Members of the public are encouraged to support the Lions’ ongoing project for hunger relief by purchasing a non-perishable item with their monthly groceries and placing it in the trolley manned by the Lions.

They have a roster of about 10 different charities that this much-needed food is shared between.

“We appreciate this timely donation towards our material assistance project, which will assist us in providing food parcels to the families under our care. We applaud your efforts in choosing to walk this challenging field with us and we thank you for your unwavering commitment and support,” said Kingsburgh senior social worker, Sandra Govender.
