UPDATE: Police confirm nothing stolen in fatal Prospecton ambush shooting

A case of murder is being investigated.

Police have confirmed that the 40-year-old man who was shot and killed in Prospecton’s Stroude Place, had been ambushed.

KZN SAPS spokesman Captain Nqobile Gwala said when the man man was walking along the road at about 8.45am, he was allegedly ambushed by two men who opened fire, fatally wounding him.

He was shot in the neck, stomach and shoulder and was confirmed dead at the scene. Nothing was taken and the motive is unknown.

The gunmen fled the scene in their gateway black VW Polo. A case of murder is being investigated by Isipingo SAPS detectives. No arrests have been made as yet.
