Kuswag Skool is celebrating Chris Lindeque’s (58) appointment as principal.
Lindeque has been acting principal since December 2016, when Linda Scholtz moved to Danville Park Girls High School in Durban.
“I was overwhelmed, relieved and happy to be appointed as principal,” he said. “I’m blessed to get the post, as Kuswag is a very good school. I’m a total believer in prayer and I believe it is the will of God that I was awarded the post. My prayers have been answered and it is for His purpose that He put me here. To all my local fellow principals,thank you for your support, guidance and friendship. May our work relationship continue to grow and uplift our beautiful community.”
Lindeque was born in Germiston and did his schooling at Eloff Primary School in Springs before moving to the coast and completing his education at Dirkie Uys High School on the Bluff.

He completed his tertiary education at the Durban Onderwysers College (Dokkies) in 1985 to teach all primary subjects such as maths, history and economic management science. He taught at Greytown Primary School from 1987 to 1994, before moving to Kuswag and Toti. “I stayed with the primary school throughout my teaching career,” said Lindeque.
“For a principal it is a challenge to run both a primary and high school at the same time.” Kuswag currently has 1,070 pupils and is still growing. “As principal, I want to see happy teachers, pupils and parents. I’m a happy person, so I want the children and teachers to be happy, which will lead to a positive school.”

A lot of Lindeque’s happiness can be attributed to the three people he dotes on – his wife Berni, a teacher at Doon Heights Primary, and his two daughters, Bianca (26), a teacher at Kenmont School on the Bluff, and Cara (24) who works in Durban.
In his spare time he enjoys bass fishing, braaiing and golf. “My hobby is supporting our children on the sports fields. I am their number one supporter and I try to catch as many matches as possible.”
