Automotive giant mobilises wheelchair donation at Umlazi school
The school relies heavily on the support of the community and institutions such as the local churches, organisations and businesses.
An Umlazi school, which caters for children with disabilities, received 22 wheelchairs from an automotive giant last month.
Mason Lincoln Special School caters for physically-challenged, visually-impaired, autistic, intellectually-impaired and epileptic pupils with albinism. It boasts an autism unit, braille unit, remedial unit and pre-vocational unit for its children, who range in age from seven to 24-years, and in grade R to grade 12.

Toyota Boshoku South Africa’s president, Kenji Hirota, members of management and employees visited the school on 26 April to hand over 22 wheelchairs to its principal, Happy Shoba and staff members.
On the school’s website it said its facilities are in a terrible state of disrepair. “Taking into account the conditions that prevail, funds allocated to the school by the government are not sufficient. Therefore, we rely heavily on the support of the community and institutions such as the local churches, organisations and businesses,” it said.
