Hijacked man shot, thrown from bakkie in Folweni

A security reaction officer witnessed a hijack victim being thrown from his car in the Folweni area on Tuesday afternoon, 27 February.

A PT Alarms reaction officer saw the man being thrown out of a white bakkie, while he was returning from an unrelated incident locally. On further investigation, it was established the 39-year-old man had been hijacked of his company vehicle while doing deliveries. He was shot in the thigh and thrown out of the vehicle by the hijackers.

The victim was stabilised by paramedics at the scene, before being taken to hospital. Police recovered the bakkie later in the evening on the outskirts of Folweni.
