CCPO’s swift response keeps Amanzimtoti burglars on their toes

A housebreaker was apprehended after being spotted in the yard of an Ellcock Road premises.

Yet another burglar is behind bars, thanks to the Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO).

CCPO committee member, George Snodey said foot patrol guard Thembinkosi Zuma was patrolling in Dan Pienaar Drive, Amanzimtoti on Thursday morning, 15 February when he noticed a suspicious-looking person.

“When Themba confronted him, he found various items in his possession. When questioned, the man showed the CCPO a house in Mount Road from where he had stolen the items,” said Snodey. He has been detained by Amanzimtoti SAPS.

In a separate incident on Sunday morning, 18 February, a housebreaker was apprehended after being spotted in the yard of an Ellcock Road premises. “He fled the scene but was apprehended on the railway line. Unfortunately no case was opened, as he hadn’t yet got into the premises,” said Snodey.
