Amanzimtoti Conservancy calls for more eco warriors

Amanzimtoti Conservancy, with its very small group of active members is now two hands-on members down.

River guardian, Corinne Winson has relocated to Durban and Rolf Collins is no longer able to assist due to pressures of work. Corinne’s personal project since October 2013 has been dune rehabilitation, and she worked from the Amanzimtoti River and lagoon and progressing northwards. She has left this satisfying work in the good hands of Matthew Manning, a patrol leader with Umbogintwini Scouts.

Rolf is a qualified marine expert and represented Toti Conservancy on the ETM (eThekweni Municipality) coastal management committee.

“Toti Conservancy is calling once again for eco warriors from Umbogintwini to Karridene, and the inland areas of Adams Mission, KwaMakhutha and Bhekulwandle to come forward, become involved, and make a difference to your local environment,” said chairman, Angus Pyke.

“Consider joining the conservancy even if you cannot get too involved with projects. You are welcome to put forward your own project, to co-opt a group of like-minded friends, and the conservancy will offer every support.
As a recognised and registered body, the municipality and other organisations do take notice when we make requests or complaints.”
