Animal shelters in the Cape have lapped up and given thanks for all the water donations that have made their way there.

Amanzimtoti residents collected and donated a whopping 2,500 litres earlier this week. A total of 58 tons of water was collected throughout South Africa for the first Cape Town Water Drive For Animal Shelters.

One Small Act of Kindness is the organisation behind the drive and they said the effort will be ongoing. Gift of the Givers transported the water from Johannesburg to Cape Town.

Fourteen shelters will share the water. These include Fallen Angels (about 345 animals), AACL Beilville (110 animals), Lorna Stellenbosch AWS (about 300 animals), Change For The Better (about 152 animals), Stellenbosch Animal Welfare, Phillipi Animal Welfare, Samast (about 30 animsla), Uitsig (about 550 animals), Pure Power Breed Rehab, Mzanandi Def.
