Illovo Beach dagga plantation unearthed

Amanzimtoti police were assisted by the members of the CCPO in removing and destroying the plants

Amanzimtoti  police crime prevention unit’s W/O Booyens and Cst Moodley removed 163 dagga plants with an estimated street value of R1,000 from a property in Illovo Beach on Thursday, 25 January.

Following up on information received, they proceeded to the property and removed the dagga.

With the assistance of members of the CCPO, the dagga plants were removed and destroyed.

“Amanzimtoti SAPS encourages the community to report any related incidents as quick action can be taken in order to stop drugs from hitting our streets,” said Toti SAPS spokesman, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.

“Substance abuse is but one of the concerns in our area. Every pro-active action taken, changes a life.

Together we can do so much more to address these challenges we face on a daily basis. It is not known whether any arrests were made.
