Nature oil painter to inspire USCAA artists

The demo this month will be given by Ilma Williams a well known artist.

THE Upper South Coast Art Association’s January meeting takes place in the activities hall of Amanzimtoti library on Saturday, 20 January.

The meeting will begin at 1.30pm and end at about 4pm.

Refreshments will be supplied for a small fee.

The demo this month will be given by Ilma Williams, a well-known artist. Her work varies in interactions with nature in various forms. Her medium is oil on canvas.

The afternoon meeting will be preceded by the morning drawing session which begins at 9am and ends at about noon. This session will be conducted by Ritha Fenske. The usual drawing equipment should be taken along, such as graphite pencils ranging from H to 5 or 6B, coloured pencils, various shades of red, blue and yellow ,compressed charcoal, pastels red, yellow and blue plus black and white, ball point pen or fineliner and kneadable eraser and/or pencil eraser.

Artists should also take along a good photograph of themselves as well as a good photograph of their favourite animal. Take enough rough paper for warming up, as well as one or two sheets of good cartridge paper (more than 120g if possible).
