Dinner fund drive keeps four-legged folk fed over festive season

A total of R30,050 was collected in the 2017 Christmas drive.

While it failed to exceed last year’s record donation amount, the substantial amount of money raised by this year’s Animal Dinner Fund drive no doubt helped feed the hungry four-legged charges at Amanzimtoti SPCA.

A total of R30,050 was collected in the 2017 Christmas drive, compared to 2016’s bumper R37,669.

The Toti public donate to the fund each festive season and the contributions go towards feeding the homeless, abandoned and destitute animals housed by the SPCA.
People who contributed to the fund had the choice of having a short message on behalf of a pet printed in the SUN.

“A big thank you to everyone who donated towards our Christmas doggie dinner fund,” said Amanzimtoti SPCA manager, Tracey Girling. “Together with the money raised and the overwhelming response to our appeal for cooked food, all the animals had full tummies this festive season. I wish everyone all the very best for 2018 and I thank you for your continued support.”
