CCPO bags burglar while breaking into pre-school

The suspect jumped through a broken window and scaled fences but Cele managed to apprehend him.

A burglar was collared by the Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) on Sunday afternoon, 7 January after he broke into a pre-primary school.

Blue Security received an alarm activation at Umdoni Pre-Primary and when the response officer responded, he noticed a broken window and called for assistance and the key holder. CCPO foot patrol guard, Hopewell Cele was on duty in Umdoni Road and started making his way towards the area near the school.

When the key holder arrived to open up, the suspect jumped through a broken window and scaled fences, heading towards Umdoni Road. The Blue Security officer relayed his description over the CCPO radio and as the criminal jumped a fence into Umdoni Road, Cele managed to apprehend him. He was handed over to Amanzimtoti SAPS.
