The residents of Jabulani Retirement Home in Warner Beach were spoilt, thanks to the efforts of two local women this week.
Thanks to the Jabulani Christmas box project which was initiated by Reena Solomon and aided by Caroline Bowker, the seniors were graced by an appearance by Santa as he handed out beautifully wrapped gift boxes for each of them.
Reena had made an appeal to the Amanzimtoti community via social media for wrapped boxes to be filled with treats for the seniors at the Warner Beach retirement home. As usual, the local community responded in earnest and the contents of some of the boxes were amazing. The boxes were so beautifully wrapped that residents were reluctant to open them.
Caroline and her friends provided delicious food, while Craig Henwood (DJ Fluffy) and Leonie Henwood provided great entertainment when the gifts were distributed on Saturday, 10 December.
Santa, also known as Peter Babich, made all the senior citizens feel special.
