A thief has technology to blame after he was caught on CCTV stealing lights in Ridge Road on Tuesday, 5 December.
Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) committee member, George Snodey said they received the CCTV footage the following day. “Within 15 minutes of it being placed on the CCPO Whatsapp group, the suspect had been found by CCPO and Blue Security patrol officer, Mbuyiselo ‘Triple M’ Mdunjane and his crewman Mambo Nhlanhla,” said Snodey.
He flatly denied being involved in the incident and blamed a friend. However, on being taken back to the crime scene and shown the footage, he relented and pleaded for leniency. His pleas fell on deaf ears and he was arrested and detained at Toti SAPS.
