Ward 97 Christmas party scheduled

Complications have arisen due to a supplier bringing an interdict against the municipality for not being awarded the catering contract.

Despite there being a tender dispute related to the hosting of municipal functions, the ward-based, city Christmas lunch for senior citizens of ward 97 has been scheduled to take place on Thursday, 7 December.

Amanzimtoti senior citizens born in or before 1957 and who are over the age of 60 are invited to the city’s Christmas lunch at Amanzimtoti Civic Centre on Thursday, 7 December from 10am.

Residents in ward 97 should call Mark on 083-637-0736 Monday to Friday, from 9am to 3pm to confirm their attendance. They will need to supply their full names, address, ID number and contact number, preferably a cellphone number.

Complications have arisen due to a supplier bringing an interdict against the municipality for not being awarded the catering contract. This has led to all municipal functions scheduled between 28 November and 1 December being put on hold. However ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge is not sure if the Toti function will be affected.

Tickets will only be available from Tuesday, 5 December once the outcome has been determined.
