Durban South communities alerted to suspicious red car

The brazen occupants of the vehicle drive up to a premises and bang on the gate, demanding entry.

Local residents are warned to be on the lookout for a red vehicle with suspicious occupants which has been spotted in Isipingo, Isipingo Beach, Lotus Park and Athlone Park.

“The make of the vehicle is unconfirmed as those members of public who have had run-ins with the suspicious group did not register any details as the incident unfolded quickly, catching them by surprise,” said Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo.

It has been reported that the brazen occupants of the vehicle drive up to a premises and bang on the gate, demanding entry. In one of the incidents, when the domestic worker at the property refused them entrance and screamed for help, they drove off.

Alpha Alarms has responded to some of the complaints and urges members of the community not to panic at the sight of every red vehicle but rather if a red vehicle lingers in an area or the occupants of the vehicle appear to be suspicious, contact your security service provider or the police immediately.

Attempt to register details about the vehicle, make, registration number if possible, identifying stickers, mags, dents and so on. Every little detail will help crime fighters track the group.

“Home owners are urged to enlighten their domestic workers who are alone on the property about how to activate the alarm system if required. Engage in practise runs for their safety and the safety of your family. Stay safe and adhere to security measures to keep your loved ones and employees safe, as well as your property well protected,” said Naidoo.
