#DurbanStorm damage closes Amanzimtoti local school
While the havoc played out, two kittens - Storm and Flood - were rescued from a drain on the school grounds.
KINGSWAY High School suffered severe damage in the storm that wreaked havoc across Amanzimtoti on Tuesday, 10 October.
Pupils were sent home hours into their school day and were told to stay away as repairs got underway on Wednesday, 11 October.

Only the matric visual art pupils, who were doing their matric finals practical exam, attended school on Wednesday.
“The library was badly flooded, three classrooms have ceiling water damage and the glass doors at the tuck shop were shattered,” explained Kingsway High’s Elaine Woor.
“We were having the hall roof repaired, as there was water coming through there. Two classrooms are completely flooded and the book room flooded through the ceiling. Our fields were damaged as parents and staff had to drive over them to get from Kuswag. Damage to fencing and trees is also evident.”
While the havoc played out, two kittens were rescued from a drain on the school grounds. The kittens, only weeks old, have been named Storm and Flood, a well-earned moniker for the little survivors.
School will resume as normal for all Kingsway High pupils on Thursday, 12 October.
