Four drown in Isipingo during #DurbanStorm

His vehicle had been submerged in water and the man had drowned.

Four people, including a four-year-old child, drowned during Tuesday’s deluge in Isipingo.

According to Isipingo SAPS communication officer Captain David Ragavan, police were called to the corner of Thie Road and Old Main Road in Isipingo CBD at about 12.30pm.

“The body of a man, believed to be in his 50s, was found in an Isuzu bakkie. His vehicle had been submerged in water and the man had drowned,” he said.

Police were then called to Clark Road in Isipingo Beach at about 11.30am, where the body of a four-year-old child was found.

At about 2pm the body of a 40-year-old woman was found, also in Clark Road.

In Mahes Road in the Isipingo Rail, the body of a 27-year old man was found at about 9.30pm.
