Auditions for the KZN Youth Orchestra will be held on Friday, 13 October from 1.30pm to 5pm and Saturday, 14 October from 8.30am to 5pm in room 503 at the Playhouse in Acutt Street.
Online entries are available on the website www.kznyo.co.za and must be received by October 10th. Entrants must be of a grade three musical level for the shadow orchestra and grade five for the main orchestra.
They must be between the ages of 12 and 23. Candidates will need to play two contrasting pieces and a couple of scales. The orchestra is planning a tour to Mauritius next July. The orchestra plays a variety of music from Baroque and classical to jazz, film music and contemporary ethnic pieces. Email enquiries to Sihle at sihle@kznyo.co.za or call him on 071-948-5763.
