Idols top 8 dream fuels Phindy’s hunger

The tension and nerves are getting worse the further we go

Amanzimtoti song bird Phindile ‘Phindy’ Dube has made into the top eight of Idols SA.

“Being in the top eight is beyond anything I could ever imagine. God is good,” said the 19-year-old.

Phindy was born in Pinetown and went to Ashley Primary School and Pinetown Girls’ High. She moved to Toti in December 2016 and is currently studying at the University of the Witwatersrand.

“Being in the top eight has not necessarily given me more confidence, however coming this far has made me hungrier for the dream. My experience on Idols has literally been a dream, the kind you don’t want to wake up from.

The tension and nerves are getting worse the further we go, because we really never know who’s next on the homebound train.

We have all developed personal relationships among each other and right now we’re all happy with each other, but also really sad about the tragedy that is Sunday (when someone gets voted off).

Of course I miss home and I’d kill to hold my baby brother in my arms.

I have phenomenal supporters, and if I could have an one-on-one with each one I’d say thank you for putting your belief in me, thank you for picking me up on social media when I feel like giving up on the dream, thank you for being my family and showing me so much love, I love you so so much. Ngiyabonga.”

Continue to vote for Phindy and help our local girl go all the way. Idols SA is on Mzansi Magic on Sundays at 5pm.
