Ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge has confirmed that the South Africa Social Security Agency (SASSA) Umnini Service Centre is currently closed.
This follows last week’s arrest of four SASSA staff members accused of fraud at the centre.

“Those from the larger Amanzimtoti and surrounds who have either enquiries or who wish to lodge an application for SASSA grants will, until further notice, have to use the Umbumbulu office that is located 30km inland along the R603 towards Pietermaritzburg,” said Cllr Beetge.
