Gusts of wind tear through Toti Stables

The Toti Ranch stable owners have turned to the community for donations and assistance to restore the stables back to their original state.

LOCAL horse stables were severely damaged by the powerful gusts of wind that tore through Amanzimtoti on Saturday afternoon, 16 September.

The Toti Ranch stable owners have turned to the community for donations and assistance to restore the stables back to their original state.

“We’re in desperate need of roofing, large concrete blocks, cement and large wooden planks,” said Paula McKenzie of Toti Ranch.

Particular damage was inflicted on the roofing, and the stables now require someone with the skills to fix the roof, skills that come at an affordable price.

“It was mostly the store rooms that got damaged,” said Paula. “However, we had to throw away so much hay as the asbestos roof crumbled in it. A place to store the horses feed etc, remains the problem. Four stables were affected by the weather but we have made a temporary plan. However, this make-shift plan won’t hold for long so rebuilding and repairing the damaged stables is the next priority.”

If able to assist in any way, contact Paula on 079-857-1953.
