CCPO foils car thieves at Winklespruit Beach

I tried to jam them in, but they drove over the pavement.

Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) committee member, George Snodey foiled a car theft at Winklespruit Beach on Saturday morning, 16 September.

A VW Polo had been stolen from a Doonside mall on Friday, 15 September, in which the thieves used a white Ford Fiesta. Fortunately the vehicle was recovered by a tracking company.

Thinking they might return to steal another vehicle in the nearby vicinity, Snodey patrolled Winklespruit the following morning when he spotted them trying to steal a silver Toyota Etios at about 7.30am.

“I tried to jam them in, but they drove over the pavement and eluded me. Fortunately they didn’t manage to steal the vehicle.”
