Help police identify murdered man

He had sustained a gunshot wound to his forehead.

Police are requesting for help to identify the body of a man who was found in the Mbokodweni River in Amanzimtoti on Sunday, 10 September.

According to police spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane of the SAPS KZN media centre, the body of a black man believed to be in his 40s was found in the river, with his hands tied and his face covered.

“He had sustained a gunshot wound to his forehead. He was wearing navy trousers, a political party T-shirt and a jacket with the Umgeni Water logo. He is dark in complexion.

A case of murder is being investigated by Bhekithemba SAPS.”

Police appeal to anyone who may have information on the next of kin or who can identify the deceased to contact investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Sipho Khoza on 031-909-9963 or 082-294-9318, or the Crime Stop number on 086-001-0111.
