A crash between two cars on the M35 at Folweni on Friday evening, 8 September ended badly for the occupants of an informal settlement on the roadside whose shack was decimated.
In total, three people were injured, two of whom were seriously hurt in a collision on the M35 Folweni near Muthwa Garage just before 9pm.
Rescue Care paramedics found two vehicles had collided, before one left the roadway and came to rest on a shack in an informal settlement below the roadway. Advanced life support paramedics stabilised the injured before transporting them to nearby hospitals.
At this stage the cause of the collision is unknown but SAPS attended the scene and will investigate.
