Seed of Hope overawed by support for classroom conversion project

SOH hosts a day of fun for family and friends to say a huge thank you for all the support.

Seed of Hope Community Development Centre (SOH) thanks The CommUnity Project for the amazing work members have done at SOH over the past five weeks.

“Earlier this year, The CommUnity Project approached us about wanting to start a project where the local people of Amanzimtoti could come together and serve local NGOs in a practical way,” said SOH chairman, Kierra Ward.

“This was amazing news for us, as our Simunye Programme block was in dire need of a facelift and because of our growth, we were needing to convert the existing kitchen space into a new classroom.

The project was willing to help us with this huge endeavour, and we have been amazed at the response and involvement from the local community.”

The project took about a month to complete. Every Saturday there was a team of willing volunteers, with sometimes up to 30 locals participating, and even during the evenings and on Sundays they had committed helpers continuing the work.

“SOH thanks The CommUnity Project and Toti locals who participated to make this happen. Our staff and the children in our programme are truly grateful. We are so blessed to be a part of a community that is willing to help and serve others.”

SOH hosts a day of fun for family and friends to say a huge thank you for all the support it received and to share its story with those who may not have heard of it as yet.
