Three injured after truck veers off N2

The fire department was also notified due to the unknown contents of the truck.

Three people were injured when a truck overturned on the N2 southbound before the Adams Road off-ramp this morning (Thursday, 17 August).

Voluntary Emergency Medical Assistance (VEMA) paramedics were called out at about 11am.

“We notified the fire department due to the unknown contents of the truck,” said a VEMA paramedic. “We found the truck had veered off the N2 and come to rest on the embankment.”

Three people were injured – two with slight injuries and one with a serious head laceration with arterial bleeding.

VEMA medics with another voluntary service stabilised the seriously injured person and all patients were transported to a local government hospital.

Toti SAPS will investigate the cause of the accident.
