VIDEO: Seniors have a ball at Sun Seniors Picnic 2017

Watch what happens at the annual Sun Seniors Picnic.

THE South Coast Sun was privileged to spend a few hours bringing some lighthearted fun and laughter with the senior citizens of the Upper South Coast last Thursday, 3 August, when hosting the annual SUN Seniors Picnic.

Some 200 pensioners packed the hall of the ATKV Natalia Resort in Illovo Beach to receive several goodie bags, savour the entertainment on offer and to enjoy a tasty lunch prepared to perfection by Giselle’s Kitchen.

Seniors from all walks of life congregated to participate in the long-awaited hat parade, while the entertainment programme included a surprise performance by none other than Toti teen singing talent, Keely Crocker. The 15-year-old songstress shared five songs, sung to perfection and leaving everyone in awe of her.

Next up, the Toti Hillbillies line-dancing crew set the stage alight with their toe-tapping performance. Their last number saw them demonstrate the intricacies of the dance to the pensioners and the SUN’s staff – providing much hilarity for all.

The event, while orchestrated, planned and put together by the Sun in association with ATKV Natalia Resort and with assistance from Kingsburgh Lions Club, is very much the result of the gracious and generous donations which are received from the local business community, who supported in earnest this year. The SUN editor and staff thank them for their continued support of this very worthwhile cause.
