Illovo vehicle ‘chop shop’ bust

Four other H100s were also found on the property.

Local response officers along with a Durban flying squad member shut down a motor vehicle syndicate on Tuesday, 1 August.

ET Rapid Response South Coast managing member Tony Lokker said their tactical response team responded to a vehicle tracking signal in the Illovo area at about 1pm.

“Our Tracker partner despatched multiple units. Reaction officer Ashley Naidoo with Sgt Cele of the Durban flying squad were the closest ground units. Both vehicles descended on the co-ordinates together,” he said.

Three men were surprised in the process of stripping a Hyundai H100,” said Lokker.

“Once all units arrived, it was quickly established that this spot was a well used ‘chop shop’. Four other H100s were also found on the property and further investigations are underway.

“Well done boys, this was a good arrest by all involved.”
