17 pupils injured in R603 collision

The schoolchildren sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Seventeen schoolchildren were injured on the R603 when the taxi they were travelling in collided with another vehicle this afternoon (Wednesday, 2 August).

According to Rescue Care spokesman, Garrith Jamieson, the collision occurred close to Winklespruit at about 3pm.

The schoolchildren believed to be of primary and high school ages, sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

They were treated on the scene, before being transported to various hospitals.

SAPS were on scene to investigate the cause of the collision.
