Spots, dots reign at 21 Club

Lucky winners of the hampers in the fundraiser for Storm were Glen Scorgie and Dr Gericke.

PETER Butterworth, one of 21 Club’s favourite speakers, was the special guest at the June luncheon.

Members turned up dressed to the nines in colourful, spotted outfits which matched the décor.

It must be said that Peter’s double-breasted waistcoat was a really uplifting idea.

Peter’s presentation was spot on and as usual he brought the house down. In his talk he managed to weave spots and dots from rashes and pimples to Marilyn Monroe’s beauty spot, the ‘bindi’, Braille and spots before the eyes to yellow polka-dot bikinis and Lady Macbeth’s ‘out damn spot’, to mention but a few.

As usual, he included a game which kept the members on the hop. Many thanks Peter, for a spotless performance. The club looks forward to spotting him again next year.

The meal at Lords and Legends was delicious as usual and the scattering of Smarties on the dessert to match the theme added a playful touch.

Lucky winners of the hampers in the fundraiser for Storm were Glen Scorgie and Dr Gericke. There are more hampers to come so raffle sheets are still available.

Yvonne Burke has resigned due to the travelling involved in attending the meetings. Hopefully she will visit as a guest occasionally. Betty Holdrick was warmly welcomed as a new member.

21 Club’s Simply Christmas in July luncheon is on Wednesday, 26 July at Lords and Legends conference room at noon for 12.30pm. Décor colours are silver, white and turquoise on black.

Members are to contact their relevant committee member to advise of their intention to attend the luncheon or not. Remember those who usually contact Jenny Perkins must notify Golda Smyly.
