Chantell spreads her charm with bracelet initiative

After fostering a FRPR rescue, Chantell Johnstone realised where her time and creative efforts will be most appreciated.

A local woman is allowing her creative juices to flow while raising not only funds but awareness for local animal rescue organisations.

After fostering a rescue, Chantell Johnstone (33) realised exactly where her time and creative efforts will be most appreciated.

“I decided to make bracelets for the Amanzimtoti SPCA and Freedom Ride Powerbreed Rescue (FRPR) because of one amazing boy, Blaze,” explained Chantell. “There were a lot of organisations I approached. Every time I got turned down but never gave up as I know somewhere the help was needed.”

Then Chantell met David Hardwick of FRPR and rescue-pooch, Blaze.

“We fostered the pitbull-cross. I realised then that people can speak for themselves but animals can’t,” she said. After approaching the SPCA and powerbreed organisation, they supported her idea to raise funds.

Chantell now makes beaded bracelets with charms, where funds feed to the rescue organisations. These bracelets are for sale at the Amanzimtoti SPCA at 1 Nyati Road, online from FRPR, The Terrace in Illovo, The Biltong and Flower Hut in Kingsburgh Centre, Planet Nails at DSM all, Lashes Beauty Salon and Creative Images in Doonside.

The passionate animal lover funds this project all on her own. If able to assist in any way, contact Chantell on 081-375-3875.
