National taxi strike on the cards

It is believed, the strike is set to disrupt not only the public transport sector, but all commuters within South Africa.

Ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge has confirmed that he has been advised of an anticipated national taxi strike on Wednesday, 12 July.

“The information indicates that members affiliated to the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) will embark on a nationwide strike, in response to their dissatisfaction with the high minibus vehicle price from the Public Investment Corporation,” said Cllr Beetge.

It is believed, the strike is set to disrupt not only the public transport sector, but all commuters within South Africa.
